Mobile SEO: Technical Skills for Real Rankings
We teach mobile optimization the way search engines actually measure it. You'll work with page speed metrics, structured data, and crawl behavior — not theories.
How the program works
Four phases that build on each other. Each one adds a layer of technical understanding you'll actually use when optimizing real sites.
Mobile-First Indexing
You'll learn how Google's mobile crawler evaluates pages differently from desktop. We cover viewport configuration, responsive resources, and common indexing issues that block mobile rankings.
Core Web Vitals
Hands-on work with LCP, FID, and CLS metrics. You'll use Lighthouse and PageSpeed Insights to diagnose real performance problems and apply specific fixes that improve scores.
Structured Data
Implementation of JSON-LD schema markup for mobile search features. You'll validate markup, troubleshoot errors in Search Console, and understand which schema types affect mobile SERP appearance.
Mobile UX Signals
Technical analysis of mobile usability factors — tap target sizing, font legibility, interstitial handling. You'll audit sites using Mobile-Friendly Test and address specific issues flagged by Google.
What you'll actually be able to do
These aren't abstract concepts. Every skill here connects to a specific task you'd perform when optimizing a mobile site for search visibility.
Audit mobile rendering
Use Fetch and Render to see exactly what Googlebot captures from your mobile pages. Identify JavaScript issues, blocked resources, and rendering delays.
Optimize image delivery
Implement responsive images with srcset, compress files without quality loss, configure lazy loading, and set up next-gen formats like WebP.
Fix crawl budget waste
Analyze server logs to identify unnecessary crawls, configure robots.txt properly, and use canonical tags to consolidate duplicate mobile URLs.
Implement AMP correctly
Build valid AMP pages when speed is critical, maintain parity with canonical versions, and troubleshoot validation errors that prevent AMP cache usage.
Debug indexing problems
Read Search Console coverage reports, understand why pages are excluded, and resolve specific mobile indexing issues like viewport errors or blocked CSS.
Measure real user metrics
Set up Chrome User Experience Report data collection, interpret field data from actual mobile users, and correlate performance with ranking changes.
Three program options
Pick the pace and depth that works for your schedule and goals.
